Animals, People, & Environment Action (APe Action)

Compassion is our Soul, Education is our Mission.
Animal Education and Rescue

We rely on volunteers and foster homes. Without foster homes we could not save the lives of homeless, abandoned, and abused pets that come to us needing help each year.

You can MAKE a HUGE DIFFERENCE in the life of a homeless pet being a FOSTER HOME!     APe Action will provide all of the food, a leash, collar and tags, and medical care needed for each pet.  All that  FOSTER HOMES have to do is take the animal into your home and provide loving care and shelter.

WHILE IN YOUR HOME Ape Action advertises the pet on multiple websites, craigslist, and other newspaper ad as to find permanent and loving home. This is a rewarding experience and foster families often give the pet a first hand experienced of love.

We do ask that the foster volunteers commit to care for their foster pet until a permanent home is found PLEASE HELP?

APe Action is not a shelter nor a facility, but an organization committed to aiding animal rescue efforts. We emphasize support of animal rescue and adoption, spay and neutering of pets, and bringing awarness to protect, care, and serve the many unwanted, abandoned, and homeless animals. One of APe Action's goals is to implement a Spay and Neuter Program. This will reduce the number of innocent animals killed each year as well as prevent them from entering the shelter system.

The current practice of impounding and euthanizing animals is neither ethical nor humane. The estimated $173 it costs tax payers to catch, house and then kill each animal brought into the shelter system could be better spent on Spay and Neuter that can be done for less than $100 an animal.

Programs in Development:

Spay and Neuter Assistance
- We are currently searching for Vets to partner up with that will give discounted care for low income homes that need help with Spay and Neuter costs.  Our goal is to supplement the cost of the discounted service up to 50%.

Foreclosure Rescue - With the recent increase in forclosures, many dogs are being abandonded or turned into local shelters.

With funding, we can care for and rehome people's loving pets by partnering up with other local non profits that work in dog placement.

Senior Dog Sanctuary - We are currently looking for sponsorship and funding for our "Sammy's Place".  APe Action wants to provide a comfortable, happy sanctuary for elderly dogs to live out the rest of their lives.   Housing and care can be expensive and we need funding help to support this necessary program.

Volunteers needed

We are always in need of volunteers. If you are interested in being an adoption coordinator which oversee's volunteers please contact us. We also need volunteers for house checks, transport to and from vet visits and adoptions events.  For adoptions; volunteers are needed to transport and/or sit with the dog at the adoption, and must commit to two weekends a month. volunteer@apeaction.org

PLEASE NOTE:  As of 2009, our focus is to implement animal welfare programs, pet owner education, and  financial aid for pet owners.

Kokomo and Koby

This brother and sister pair were saved from certain death at the shelter in urgent need of eye surgery to save their site. After receiving donations for their medical care we were able to care for and train them while they awaited their forever home. They were adopted together into a loving family that is
excited about their new additions!

Thanks to those that donated to their medical needs and to the Catello family for opening up their home to these wonderful dogs!
